2008

Carer's Rights Open Day  5th December 2008 at Kingsgate Resource Centre, NW6

We provided an Art Therapy workshop for people who are carers and those whom they are caring for.

This relaxed space, away from the main information space, enabled participants to find a connection with art making.

Participants could also discover how Art Therapy might help with the emotional aspects of being a carer, being cared for, and other life issues.

Camden's Fair for HIV Services  8th November 2008 at Haverstock School, NW1

During this year's annual networking event, we provided information about Art Therapy to people living with HIV, their family and carers.  We also made links with a range of service providers for people living with HIV.  The event was lead by Cllr Martin Davies, chairperson of Camden Council's HIV Service User's Liaison Group, and by the Housing and Adult Social Care User Involvement department.

Camden's Celebrating Parents Open Day  18th October 2008 at Haverstock School, NW1

Celebrating Parents was held to mark Camden's part in the National Parents Week.  A range of information and activities were on offer throughout the day.

The event was attended by over 350 parents, children and young people.

We hosted a drawing competition, on the subject of  "My Family". 50 children entered the competition, whose ages ranged from 3-15 years old.

Away from the competition, we also had an opportunity to talk with parents and local service providers about Art Therapy.

All participants received a prize and a big 'thank you' from Barbara Ludlow,  Camden's Parenting Development Coordinator, who hosted this lively day.

The winning images will be displayed on leaflets, flyers and posters produced by London Borough of Camden, including those for the Parent Council.
